Giouvarlakia with Lemon Sauce

The Ingredients

750 gr. minced

1/2 cup. butter

1/2cup. rice

1/2cup. chopped onion

2 eggs

3 k.s chopped parsley

half a lemon

salt, pepper


1.Put the mince in a bowl and add the rice, onion, parsley, one of the eggs, a little lemon juice, salt and pepper. Mix well.

2.Full a saucepan with some water and bring to boil. Add the butter. Form little balls (Giouvarlakia) one by one and throw them in the boiling water. Let them boil over medium heat for about 30 minutes.

3.Beat the 2 yolks and 1 egg with the lemon juice, add juice from giouvarlakia to warm up the mixture and pour the giouvarlakia.

4.Shake the pan and leave it on low heat, to thicken the sauce.
